Distinguished by its consideration of performance-based criteria, including clinical quality outcomes, clinical process indicators and resource utilization outcomes, Premier's Award for Quality measures top performers at the overall hospital level.

The Supply Chain Excellence Award honors member hospitals for achieving superior supply expense performance as measured by SupplyFocus. Winners are identified using supply expense ratios for percent of total operating expense, percent of net patient revenue, adjusted patient day, and adjusted discharge. A CMI-based peer grouping methodology also is used to ensure that organizations of diverse sizes and complexity are equally considered.

The Supply Chain Innovation Award was created to honor Premier member hospitals that have developed and implemented innovative, high-impact supply chain improvement ideas in their own organizations or worked with Premier to introduce innovative improvement ideas to the alliance membership. Premier's Pinnacle and Performance Awards applaud the efforts of contracted suppliers in meeting or exceeding our operational expectations. In selecting recipients, performance data is collected and scored over four successive calendar quarters. Contracted suppliers scoring 95 percent or higher earn the Pinnacle Award; organizations scoring between 85 to 94 percent earn the Performance Award.
